Russia salvaged a World Cup draw against South Korea after an embarrassing gaffe from goalie Igor Akinfeev saw them fall behind.

The CSKA Moscow keeper somehow allowed Lee Keun-ho's speculative second half effort to squirm through his grasp, before collapsing after it as it crept over the line.

However the Russians managed to grab an important point when substitute Alexandr Kerzhakov took advantage of a goalmouth scramble to convert a simple finish.

Both sides pushed for a later winner but the game in Cuiaba ended in a draw, with a point apiece representing a fair result for both Group H nations.
