The Red Hands were quickest out of the blocks on Sunday, racing into an early three point advantage, courtesy of efforts from Peter Harte, Darren McCurry and Kyle Coney.

Cork restored parity when Paul Kerrigan scored the game's first goal in the 5th minute.

However, despite significant pressure from Cork, Tyrone hit some wonderful points soon after to go in at the break 0-12 to 1-5 in front.

Cork came out as a different side in the second half with Colm O'Neill and John O'Rourke helping to reduce the deficit to just a point.

Barry O'Driscoll went on to extend Cork's lead but Tyrone never gave up.

Sean Cavanagh and Kyle Coney scored late points to once again reduce the gap between the sides.

And with minutes left on the clock Sean Cavanagh won a free kick that was put between the posts by Ronan O'Neill to tie the game up at 2-14 to 0-20.

Elsewhere in Division 1, Derry beat Kildare 2-17 to 3-09 at Celtic Park to boost their own title hopes and condemn the Lilywhites to relegation to Division 2.

Armagh need a win next weekend against Donegal to avoid relegation to Division 3 after they were beaten by Galway 2-14 to 1-13.

Monaghan maintained their promotion hopes from Division 2 after coming from behind to beat Laois 0-19 to 0-14.

While Donegal are almost certain of promotion to Division 1 after beating Louth 1-19 to 3-07 in Ballyshannon.

However, the result condemns Louth to Division 3 football next season.

Fermanagh, meanwhile, kept their hopes of staying in Division 3 alive with a hard fought win over Wexford at Brewster Park, winning the game 2-20 to 3-08.

And in the day's earlier game in Division 4 Antrim beat London 3-15 to 1-10 in Ruislip.
