Glenavon were the big winners with a 7-0 victory over Sport and Leisure Swifts at Mournview Park, while Linfield were 5-0 winners over Dergview.
Ballinamallard United will face Strabane Athletic again after being held to a goalless draw, Ballymena United drew 2-2 with Harland & Wolff Welders and Ards were held to the same scoreline by Armagh City.
In the two all-Premiership games Glentoran were 3-0 winners over a lacklustre Portadown at Shamrock Park, while Cliftonville drew 2-2 with Coleraine.
Aaron Boyd opened the scoring for the defending Irish Cup Champions in the 19th minute, but Darren Murray's penalty made it 1-1 before Glens debutant Curtis Allen netted twice in the second half to seal the victory.
In the game at Solitude Joe Gormley's spot-kick opened the scoring for Cliftonville against Coleraine, but Eoin Bradley played in short-term Bannsiders signing Stephen Dooley to score his second goal in two games six minutes before the break.
Liam Boyce put the Reds back in front with a header two minutes after the restart, but a 59th minute volley from David McDaid sealed the replay.
The other five top-flight sides all managed book their places in the sixth round, with Glenavon's 7-0 thrashing of Sport and Leisure Swifts the biggest win of the day
Championship side Bangor also scored 7 in their game against Glebe Rangers, with the visitors managing a solitary consolation goal as the game ended 7-1.
Linfield and Dungannon Swifts also recorded sizeable wins, with the Blues recording a 5-0 win over Dergview at Windsor Park and Dungannon securing a 5-1 victory away to Moyola Park to book their place in the next round.
Crusaders were given a tough workout by Crumlin Star, with the minnows holing the Premiership high-fliers to a 1-1 draw before Andy Smith's goal 17 minutes from time sealed a 2-1 win.
Elsewhere Warrenpoint Town progressed with a 2-0 victory over Chimney Corner.
In addition to Bangor, four other lower-league sides guaranteed their place in the sixth round.
Carrick Rangers beat Dundela 3-2, while Ballymoney United secured a 1-0 victory over Banbridge Town, Queens University overcame Limavady United by the same scoreline and Ballyclare Comrades were 3-0 winners over Kilmore Rec.
Lisburn Distillery face a replay against PSNI after their game finished goalless.
All Irish Cup replays will take place on Tuesday 21 January.
