In the concluding back-to-back clash between the sides, Saints held on to win 10-9 at Ravenhill and exact revenge for a heavy defeat last week.

All of the visitors' points came in the opening 40 minutes, with a try from number eight Gerrit-Jan van Velze along with a conversion and penalty from Stephen Myler.

It gave them a deserved lead but Ulster responded after their shaky start and tried to turn the game around in front of the home crowd.

Jackson opened their account with a 30th-minute penalty and scored his second seven minutes later, cutting the lead to four points as the first half ended.

And his 42nd-minute penalty got Ulster off to the perfect start in the second period to put them just one point behind.

Williams drove over the line as the game approached the hour mark but the TMO did not give the score - and there was more drama with less than 10 minutes to go when a Myler drop goal was closed down, but neither Darren Cave nor sub Craig Gilroy could break free.

Ruan Pienaar had a kick to win it in the closing moments but fired wide as Saints held on. Ulster took a losing bonus point from the evening, with two pool games remaining.

The bubble had to burst some time, alas it was Saturday. Unlucky for the guys, they did have a chance to win it. The biggest loss is Tommy Bowes injury, hope its not long before he is fit again. SUFTUM
