The young Co Down golfer recently capped his season with a win at the World tour Champiomship in Dubai and admits he was pleased to end on a high.

"I could have come in here complacent and thinking that I'd already wrapped it up the Race to Dubai and everything, but I wanted to finish the season in style and I've been able to do it," McIlroy said.

And he's thankful for all the support he's had from family, friends, fans and, of course, girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki.

"It seems that every time she comes to a tournament, I win," he said.

"So I might have to bring her to a few more. But it's been great. We had a great week and it's been so nice to finish it like this."
