In the wake of Celtic qualifying for the tournament's group stages, Lennon joked with reporters that he just hoped to void Real Madrid and Barcelona.

But he did add that he felt the pressure is now off his players - and on Thursday, he declared himself "delighted" with the draw.

"It is fantastic to be involved with the draw - very exciting," Lennon said.

"And to be in a group with Barcelona ... tough, but real glamour games for the club. And the other two are huge clubs in their respective countries."

As well as Barcelona, Celtic's Group G includes Befica and Spartak Moscow.

English Premiership defending champions Manchester City have been drawn in Group D, alongside Real Madrid, Ajax and Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester United are in Group H with Braga, Galatasaray and CFR Cluj.

Arsenal join Schalke, Olympiakos and Montpellier in Group B, while Chelsea are in Group E with Shaktar Donetsk, Juventus and FC Nordsjaelland.

Well done Celtic. Barcelona players themselves have said they'd like Celtic to go through with them. Both sets of clubs and their respective fans have formed a close bond over recent years from playing against each other. Celtic flying the flag for Scotland. And lastly well done to Neil Lennon. Despite the despicable things he was subjected to he has led Celtic to be the best team in Scotland and brought them to the top table of European football. Hail hail Neil Lennon.
