The Belfast side took the maximum points out of their weekend of action, with their punishment of the Capitals coming after Saturday's 3-1 win against the Steelers in Sheffield.

Sunday saw Paul Adey's men waste no time in making their mark, establishing a 6-1 lead after just 20 minutes.

They opened their goal account within four minutes, courtesy of Colin Shields.

And the goals kept coming, with a host of Giants getting their names on the scoresheet.

The Capitals had opened their scoring with a goal in the first period and then grabbed a consolatory second just before the half-hour mark.

It was the Giants who would ultimate net the final goal of the game though, with Dustin Whitecotton firing home just after 45 minutes in.

Next up for the Giants is another trip to Scotland to face the Braehead Clan on Saturday.
