Fighting as chief support to Carl Froch's World super-middleweight title bout against Lucian Bute, the 24-year-old Belfast man had expected a tough test against fellow unbeaten fighter Hirales.
The Mexican delivered with a display of resilience that forced Frampton to go the distance.
However the result was never in any real doubt as "the Jackal" controlled the pace of the contest, picking his shots intelligently as Hirales did his best to soak up the pressure.
Although unable to take his opponent off his feet, Frampton certainly impressed the judges with all three scoring the bout heavily in his favour.
The win sees Frampton extend his perfect record to 14 fights, and paves the way for a possible European title showdown with champion Kiko Martinez.
