He is likely to feature because Munster scrum-half Eion Reddan is finding it tough to shake off an ankle injury sustained in their defeat to South Africa at the weekend.
Craig Gilroy, Tom Court and Roger Wilson have also been called up.
Saturday's match at Thomond Park is an uncapped fixture, but it will provide a good opportunity for the Ulstermen to show coach Declan Kidney why they should be in the squad for their next test match against Argentina.
Ulster starlet Iain Henderson is sure to be anxious for the team announcement after he made his first senior appearance for Ireland against the Springboks. He will hope he has done enough to warrant a start against Fiji.
Devin Toner (Leinster) and Stephen Archer (Munster) have also been named in Declan Kidney's side.
The team will be announced on Thursday.
