Full-back Jared Payne is back from injury while Paddy Wallace has been named in midfield to replace Luke Marshall alongside Darren Cave for the game.

There are also two changes in the front row with Rory Best starting at hooker and John Afoa named at tight-head.

Glasgow are without a win in the competition this season going into their clash with Pool 4 leaders Ulster at Ravenhill.

However they were unlucky not to beat Castres Olympique when a last minute penalty struck a post.

The game will also see Andrew Trimble make his 150th appearance for Ulster when he starts on the right wing with Craig Gilroy.

He is only the fourth player in the history of the club to reach this milestone - after Paddy Wallace, Justin Fitzpatrick and Bryn Cunningham - and said it's "really special".

Trimble said: "I never thought when I was starting out that I would ever make 150 appearances. When I was younger I supported Ulster and always wanted to play for the Province, so to reach 150 is really special."

The match kicks off at 8pm at Ravenhill on Friday.

Ulster squad:

Back Row (15-9): J Payne; A Trimble, D Cave, P Wallace, C Gilroy; P Jackson, R Pienaar.

Front Row (1-8): T Court, R Best, J Afoa, L Stevenson, I Henderson, R Diack, C Henry, N Williams.

Replacements (16-23): R Herring, C Black, D Fitzpatrick, N McComb, R Wilson, P Marshall, M Allen, C Cochrane.
