Pearson was injured in the Superbike event in the Horice road races on Sunday.

The 37-year-old came off at the first corner and slid into nearby trees after colliding with another rider who fell off his bike moments earlier.

He was airlifted to a nearby hospital following the incident and his parents are said to be at his bedside.

It is believed he suffered injuries to his back as well as internal bleeding.

A former Irish Superbike champion, Pearson qualified on pole for the race and had earlier won the Supersport 600 race in the day's racing.
