The midfielder is off to Scottish side Kilmarnock on an 18 month contract.

He will play under manager Kenny Shiels, who said he will need to work on his match fitness before making his debut.

"He needs some game time in the under 20 league because we have got to get him match fit, so this week he will certainly not play in these two games," said Shiels.

"We will look about trying to prepare him for the Motherwell game if we can get some game behind closed doors. He's a very good player and is one that fits our needs at the moment."

Meanwhile 21-year-old Brentford defender Lee Hodson has been called up into the NI squad for next week's friendly in Malta.

The game will be played at the Ta'Qali National Stadium on 6 February.
