The Hoops won out 2-0 over Swedish hosts Helsingborgs on Tuesday night, giving them a boost ahead of the return leg in Glasgow next week.
"We're not getting carried away with it," Lennon told reporters.
"But to have a clean sheet and a two-goal lead was the best we could have hoped for under the circumstances."

Neil Lennon
The manager was also full of praise for goalie Fraser Forster, crediting him with a number of "great saves" in the first half.
Celtic are due to take on Helsingborgs again on Wednesday 29 August, with kick-off at 7.45pm.
