While Reid may be known for his celebrity status, he is also a respected fighter in MMA circles.

"He is a tough nut," his opponent Moore told UTV, ahead of Saturday's fight at the Odyssey.

"I know some people think because he is a celebrity that he is not hard, but in MAA in mid-2000, he was world class level and he fought world class opponents.

"He is a tough nut and is well rounded, but I am tougher."

Reid also insists he is true to the sport and not to be underestimated.

"It is a little bit daunting," he said of his big bout.

"But I am a performer and an entertainer and, as long as there is noise, I am happy.

"Yeah, I don't like booing, but you know that's emotion and that just spurs me on more.

"And I have been misconstrued and misunderstood that I am not an athlete because of all of my poor choices in partners and the crazy world and pantomine of the media, so this is a fantastic opportunity to remind people I love mixed martial arts."

A total of 17 fights are on the cards at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast from 6pm on Saturday night, as part of the UXC II event - with Moore v Reid the top draw.
