Woman injured in armed robbery bid

A female driver has been injured during the attempted armed robbery of a cash-in-transit van at a north Belfast shopping centre.

A masked man armed with a knife approached the woman, who was in the vehicle parked at the Cityside shopping complex on Thursday at 8.30am.

It is believed that she received a cut to a finger on her right hand during the incident.

Nothing is believed to have been taken during the incident.

The man made off towards the North Queen Street area.

Police enquiries are continuing.
