It happened at a pay station in a car park on Agnew Street at about 8.25am on Saturday.

The woman refused to let go when the man grabbed her handbag and she was dragged to the ground suffering injuries including a broken finger.

The man eventually got the handbag and fled the scene, while the woman was taken to hospital.

Police in the Co Antrim town said the man has been described as being aged in his early 20s, of stocky build, with short dark hair and wearing casual clothing.

A spokesperson continued: "Police are conducting a number of enquiries in the area in an attempt to identify this man and would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or who saw this man in the area of Agnew Street to contact them on the new non-emergency number 101."

So much for CCTV in towns. Hope he is arrested and sent down for his cowardly crime.
