A woman has died after her car crashed with a lorry in Portglenone, Co Antrim on Friday.

Police said two vehicles crash on Friday morning. (© UTV)

The collision happened on the Moneygran Road at around 8am.

No one in the lorry was injured.

Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the road at the time and witnessed the incident to contact them.

The Moneygran Road has now re-opened to traffic after it was closed for most of the day.

feel so sorry for everyone involved in this terrible accident my prayers are with the family of this poor girl and the driver of the lorry at this sad time.

This is terrible news! My mum has just told me, as my aunt rang us to say she saw it in the paper! I am a college student at Ballymoney Tech, I do work placement at the school this lady taught in. I didnt know her that well, but my mum knows her as my mum teaches piano in the school. I am very shocked and numb to hear about this tradgedy! Thoughts and Prayers go out to her family!!.. :'( xo

@ F makes, portglenone is in county antrim, glenone is county Londonderry. Don't exactly know where the crash was but just correcting you incase you thought portglenone was in Londonderry.

The roads were slippy due to previous heavy salting for frost. During mornings when roads are damp with dew this residue is always very slippy. There was no slurry residue at the crash site as far as I could see.

Lovely girl, who was a great teacher to my boys and the school, very sad and she will be missed x thought are with her family and friends
