The warning was issued on Friday morning, with police saying due care should be taken on the region's motorways in particular.
"Motorists should reduce their speed and use appropriate lighting," a police spokesperson said.
A yellow warning for rain was in place until midday on Friday for counties Antrim, Armagh and Down.
Earlier, in east Belfast, there was flooding in the outside lane of the Sydenham bypass close to the Dee Street junction. The carriageway was reduced to a single lane in the Belfast direction.
In Co Down, the Bann Road in Castlewellan was closed for a time, but has since re-opened.
