The event celebrates the achievements of truly remarkable people who make our world a better place.
West Belfast woman Una Crudden travelled to the English capital to represent Northern Ireland in the national awards.
Una, a mother of five, was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer four years ago.
And since her diagnosis, the 59-year-old has worked hard to raise awareness of the disease and its symptoms.
She said being picked as the local winner in the competition was a "dream come true".
She told UTV: "To me it is about spreading awareness of the disease and this is a wonderful platform for me to do that.
"Ovarian cancer is killing women because they do not know the symptoms and they can be misdiagnosed.
"So getting onto the media is wonderful because it reaches a large amount of women and it gets the message across."
Una said being a local winner will hold special memories for her.
She added: "I am terminal, so my life-span is very short at the minute and this is a night that I will always remember - for me, it's a dream come true."
The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain awards is on UTV on Tuesday at 8pm.
