Two men are in a stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in Lisburn.

Police were called to an altercation close to houses at Iniscarn Close in the early hours on Tuesday morning.

It was reported that a number of people tried to gain entry to a property shortly after 1.50am and an altercation broke out.

Two men were stabbed and taken to hospital where they remain in a stable condition. A police spokesperson said that their injuries are no believed to be life threatening.

A woman was also taken to hospital for treatment to face and body injuries.

A 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon has been bailed by police. He was released on Tuesday afternoon, pending further PSNI enquiries.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault to come forward.
