Two boys injured in Lisburn crash

One of the two young boys who were rushed to hospital after being struck by a car in Lisburn is critically ill.

The collision happened at Railway Street in the city on Wednesday at 3.35pm.

The boys, believed to be around six years of age, were taken to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.

One of the boys is in a critical condition and is being treated in the intensive care unit, while the second child is understood to have received non-life threatening injuries.

The road was closed for a time, but reopened later that evening.

There are no further details.

Just heart breaking to see children injured like this. My sympathies to the family of both boys and the driver of the vehicle involved. I wish them both a speedy and full recovery.
