The 36-year-old father of one was shot a number of times at close range after at least two men forced their way into his home in the Longlands estate on Thursday night.

Police have said they are looking at a number of motives behind the killing, including a possible links to drugs and dissident groups.

The officer leading the investigation confirmed that Mr McKay was known to police, but said the murder was "a brutal and ruthless attack which has no place in society".

The men, aged 50 and 41, have been taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
