Men in combat gear were seen shooting into the air over the coffin during the funeral in Donaghmede over the weekend, after Ryan was shot dead in the city.

Vincent Ryan, 22, of Grange Avenue Drive in Donaghmede, 33-year-old Nathan Kinsella from Matt Talbot Court and Darragh Evans, 23, of Grange Park Rise in Raheny are charged with membership of the IRA.

They appeared at a sitting of the Special Criminal Court on Saturday, where they were remanded in custody to appear in court again later this month.

The charges follow a Gardaí investigation into the firing and possession of guns and dissident republican activity. So far, 17 people have been arrested and 14 released without charge in the operation, in which around 200 gardaí were involved.

This is the sort of robust action the PSNI should be taking with dissident republican groups in N.I.
