Daniel McCartney, aged 20 and from Enniskeen, Drumgor also in Craigavon, faced the charge at Lisburn Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

David Neill was attacked during a fight in the Parkmore area in the early hours of Sunday.

The 45-year-old victim was treated at the scene for his injuries but died later in hospital.

A police officer told the court he believed he could connect McCartney to the charge.

However a barrister for the accused said that, while in custody, his client had consistently denied stabbing Mr Neill.

He said McCartney also denied having a knife in his possession on the night of the attack.

He has been remanded in custody.
