Detectives are appealing for information on the shooting which occurred in the Andersonstown Park area on Friday at around 10pm.

The vehicle, which was empty at the time, was damaged on the driver's door side.

No one was injured in the attack.

SDLP councillor Tim Attwood has appealed for people to come forward with any information.

"I want to condemn those behind last night's shooting which occurred in a residential area of west Belfast," he commented.

"Thankfully no one was hurt during the shooting. Many young families live in this area and their safety was put at great risk.

"I would urge anyone who seen anything suspicious to come forward to police and help them with their enquiries."

Anyone who knows anything about this incident is asked to contact CID in Antrim Road on 0845 600 8000.
