Tates Avenue security alert ends

A number of items have been taken away for examination after a security alert in south Belfast ended.

A number of suspicious objects were reported in the Tates Avenue area on Monday shortly before 1pm and Army bomb experts were called in.The road was closed for a time between the Boucher Road roundabout and Lorne Street.The items have been recovered for forensic examination and Tates Avenue has fully reopened.No homes were evacuated during the operation.In South Belfast, Tates Avenue has reopened following an earlier security alert.— Trafficwatch NI (@TrafficwatchNI) February 3, 2014
