Photographer assaulted at Belfast murals

A 74-year-old man suffered cuts and bruises after he was robbed in west Belfast after taking pictures of murals on the Falls Road.

The photographer was assaulted at the junction of Albert Street, just after 6.30pm on Sunday.He had been taking pictures of artwork close to a new mural of Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams which was unveiled over the weekend.The man was approached by three men who attacked him and stole his Canon camera.A PSNI spokesman said: "Police are conducting a number of enquiries in the area in an attempt to identify these males and would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with any information to contact them on the new non-emergency number 101."
