It certainly sums up my time at UTV - often busy, sometimes frantic but never boring. In the 16 years I have worked with the company I've covered good news and bad news but throughout it all there's been one constant: my admiration for the people of Northern Ireland who've made my job so easy.
Through tragedy and triumph the warmth, eloquence and dignity of our community has shone through, and I've learned so much.
That's one of the reasons I'm sad about moving on. That and I'll miss my colleagues. But after 16 years (really?!) with UTV, and five years of being in your living room every week it's time for a new challenge.
I'm thrilled to be joining the team at LK Communications. I have a lot to learn from my new colleagues but now instead of reading the news I'll be helping our clients make the news for all the right reasons.
I'll still be glued to UTV Live and will tweet reports, breaking stories - all of which the journalists here do so well. I've been privileged to work with a great team, and I'm delighted to be going to work with another one.
I'll be on your screens until mid April, so we're not saying goodbye just yet. I'll never forget the people I've met over the years, and I hope you'll all remember me - and say hello when you see me out shopping, and tell me how much skinnier I am in real life, and ask me what Paul Clark's really like*!! All the chat that shows us just how much you love what UTV does. And will continue to do long after I move to pastures new.
*a sweetheart for the record!
