A suspicious object was found on the Doagh Road on Saturday morning and army bomb experts were sent to the scene.

A number of people were evacuated from houses in the area and the road was closed at its junctions with Monkstown Avenue and Monkstown Road.

Police said the suspicious object was examined and has been declared nothing untoward.

The road has since reopened.
