The 57-year-old was killed in the incident at Chain Reaction Cycles, in the Kilbride Road area of the Co Antrim village, on Tuesday evening.
Police were called to the premises, where the bike company runs a showroom and its main warehouse, at around 9pm.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it had received reports a man had been crushed.
A spokesperson for Chain Reaction Cycles confirmed the victim was an employee and said they will help with the investigations into the circumstances surrounding this "tragic accident".
They continued: "I can confirm that as a result of an accident at our Kilbride Road, Doagh site last night, one of our employees has tragically died. Our immediate concerns and sympathies are with his family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time."
A spokesperson for the PSNI said the Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident.
Newtownabbey Borough Council is investigating the circumstances of the death under the Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978.
A spokesperson said: "Council staff were quickly on site at the premises last night and investigations are ongoing.
"We extend sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues of the man who died."
