Man stabbed in east Belfast robbery

A man, aged in his 40s, has been stabbed in the stomach during an armed robbery in east Belfast on Friday.

The victim was walking along Castlereagh Road at around 1am when he was approached by three men who asked for a cigarette.

The man was then stabbed in the stomach.

He was later taken to a nearby hospital where his injuries were described as not life-threatening.

Cash and a number of other items were taken in the attack.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact investigating officers.
