It was later spotted by police on the Fallaghloon Road, in Maghera.

Officers gave chase which resulted in their car and another police vehicle hitting the stolen car.

The man then made off on foot, but was arrested by police a short time later.

A 25-year-old was charged with 10 offences including aggravated vehicle taking, burglary, dangerous driving and driving while unfit through alcohol or drugs and various other motoring offences.

Well done to the psni! The actions of this person could have resulted in serious injury to other road users or pedestriana, not to mention the anguish caused to owners of the vehicle. Lock him up and throw away the key! Hopefully the officers aren't seriously injured and make a full recovery
