Detectives investigating the murder of a vulnerable man in Craigavon, whose body was found in a wheelie bin, have been granted additional time to question two suspects.

A 23-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were detained at a house in Moyraverty Court on Saturday after the body of Owen Creaney was found concealed in the bin at the rear of the property.

Mr Creaney, who was 40 and from Lurgan, was disabled and used a mobility frame.

Police said he was the victim of a "serious and sustained assault".

The suspects were taken to Lurgan PSNI station before they were transferred to Antrim Serious Crime Suite.

Investigating detectives have been permitted by a court to hold them until Tuesday.

Terrible that this man lost his life my sympathy to his family no one deserves to die this way and those that did this need to be taken out of society for a long time
