Suspicious objects discovered at the Upper Lisburn Road premises were found to be part of an "elaborate hoax", following examinations on Wednesday.
Roads in the area had to be closed and a number of people were moved from their homes.
The PSNI said: "Police would like to thank the local community for their understanding and cooperation during the operation."
