A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle drunk and crashing into a police landrover in west Belfast.

Four police officers and the 19-year-old man were injured in the collision which happened on Friday at 12.20am on the Springfield Road.

They were treated in hospital for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The teen was arrested for suspected drink-driving and dangerous driving causing grevious bodily injury and has been released pending further inquiries.

The Police Ombudsman has also been informed of the incident.

thank god he did not hit some innocent motorist or somebody walking on the pavement, just shows how little respect he has for members of the public driving in such a state?
