Two parked cars were damaged in the Claragh Court area after shots were reportedly fired in the early hours of Friday morning. The windscreens were smashed.

No-one was injured in the attack which police believe had a sectarian motive.

SDLP South Down MP Margaret Ritchie has condemned the attack as "deplorable and cowardly".

"The community in Clough is supportive of one another. People do not want, or deserve this type of criminal activity in their area," she said.

"People must be left in peace to live their lives free from threat and from violence."

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area overnight or who has any further information has been asked to contact the PSNI on the non-emergency number 101.

This type off thing is what totally ruins a beautiful country, in my opinion its not committed for any real cause only by mindless thugs that have no respect for anyone, maybe someday the culprits will get there own property or vehicles damaged wonder how this would make them feel there was young children in that house so hope the big men feel proud, Ireland will never be at peace until people learn to live with each other without fear of this type off terrorism.
