Officers witnessed the boy throw the device at the Clifton Street building at around 10pm on Saturday.

The device, however, fell short and no damage was caused to the building.

A police spokesman said the incident was being treated as a hate crime.

The boy has been charged with possession of a petrol bomb in suspicious circumstances, throwing a petrol bomb and attempted criminal damage.

He is expected to appear in Belfast Youth Court next month.

As a loyalist i think the oo should ask tge courts not to charge this young lad and maybe get him to spend a few hour learning about the oo and what they stand for. Its not all bands and kick the pope this could change this kids life for the better and help build some trust on both sides.
