A bereaved mother has appealed for thieves to return her late daughter's jewellery after her home in Co Fermanagh was burgled.

Twelve years ago Sharon and Trevor Milligan were killed in a car crash. Sharon was pregnant at the time.

In the years that followed, Sharon's mother Isabelle Evans kept her jewellery in memory of her at their home in the village of Lack.

But thieves stole the mementos when they ransacked the house.

Isabelle has appealed for those responsible to return the items which mean so much to her.

"There was a pair of nice gold earrings and her T-bar necklace and she had a beautiful fob as well and all her gold bracelets were stolen too," she explained.

"It makes me feel so sad. It was really sentimental value and every time I looked at it I thought she was near me."

The Evans family are grieving for another daughter Hazel, who died just three months ago.

To make things worse in the run up to Christmas, the culprits also stole money from them during the raid.

Isabelle added: "I'm not worried about the money, I'm more worried about her jewellery. I'd like it to be returned."

The incident was carried out in broad daylight and it's understood there a been a spate of similar burglaries in the area which may be connected.

feel for this women, so sad that not only alone her daughter has been taken, that something that reminded her has also be taken, its sad to hear stories like this, some horrible people out there, that cannot survive for themselves and thinks this is acceptable to take from others, children know this is not acceptable, you should go make something of your life, and catch yourselves on, fools..
