Concentrix Technologies is to create the high quality software development posts at Lanyon Place in Belfast.

The global outsourcing company, which employs a workforce of 7,500 worldwide, said the first 20 jobs will be in place in January next year.

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said the positions will deliver more than £4m per year in salaries into the local economy.

The DUP minister continued: "Having met with Concentrix during my recent trade and investment mission to San Francisco, I was able to hear precisely what the company's plans were for Northern Ireland.

"I am pleased that this project has come to fruition so quickly and that such high quality jobs have been secured for local people.

"These jobs will deliver in excess of £4million annually in salaries. This is proof that Northern Ireland remains one of the most competitive in Europe for inward investors seeking talented people in a cost competitive location."

Invest NI has offered £749,000 to support the jobs boost.

Chris Caldwell, President of Concentrix Corporation, said: "Our European operations service a fast growing, dynamic market so when looking for potential locations for our expansion, Northern Ireland was immediately one of our main options.

"The support provided by Invest NI, the strength of the ICT sector and the resources on offer make our decision an easy one. We have already commenced recruitment at a range of levels from graduate to highly experienced software professionals and hope to have the first 20 developers in place by January 2013."

Anon. Try Allstate who have offices in Belfast and Derry. They are always looking for talented Grads and are in the middle of a recruitmernt drive at the minute. Best of Luck!

Another company coming through arlenes revolving door to collect their pound of flesh in exchange for some temporary jobs while they negotiate with the next area where they can do the same again. But let an indigenious company who has proven their commitment to Northern Ireland over several generations, ask Arlene for some support, and you'll swiftly get fobbed off. For example, the Tourist industry in Fermanagh, starved totally of government support by the local Fermanagh minister!!. HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME Ms Failure/Foster.

I interviewed with Concentrix recently but didn't get it as I wasn't experienced enough. In reality, there isn't many Software Developers about, but there are many graduates looking to get into it who need to gain the experience - it's a great shame. It's OK providing jobs, but you need to give people who have just graduated a chance too or the creation of jobs mean very little to the improvement of our economy. Otherwise, we end up being on benefits and struggle until someone gives us a break and provide us the opportunity to be a great Software Developer.
