Rylan Clark returns to the X Factor stage with panda dancers (© Rex Features)
Saturday night's live show, the second of the series, had a Love and Heartbreak theme.
Rylan made his entrance with a little burst of a Take That song, before breaking off to cheekily assure Gary he was just joking and launching into a Groove Is In The Heart/Gangnam Style/Pump Up The Jam mash-up.
"I called you a taxi just in case, Gary," the Essex lad smiled, in reference to the judge storming out during last week's results show.
"That's funny 'cause I've had yours on hold for two weeks," Mr Barlow shot back. Ouch!
Again, 16-year-old Ella Henderson managed to impress the panel with a performance that was mature beyond her years. She tackled Minnie Riperton's Lovin' You.
"You are timeless and you are classic," Nicole Scherzinger told the youngster.
"No matter what's trendy or what's going on in the industry, your talent, your voice, your beauty is just stand alone - you're a timeless goddess tonight."
The evening's proceedings got off on a cordial note, with a handshake between Gary and Louis Walsh. But tensions were soon soaring again.
"Are you deaf?" Groups mentor Louis demanded, when Gary told District3 their harmonies were off.
Well, there certainly wasn't much harmony among the judges either!
Find out who's in the bottom two and who will be leaving the competition in Sunday's result show at 8pm on UTV.

Over to you!
Who will end up in the bottom two and face leaving the competition? It's all down to you now - no pressure!

Going out on a high note ...
According to the judges, Melanie's gone from fairy to diva and Nicole wants her to just let those big notes rip! What a way to close the show!

How do you follow that?
WIth Melanie Masson apparently. She's singing Never Tear Us Apart, an INXS song covered by Paloma Faith. Once again, she's really belting it out ... (Download the track here)

Fun factor!
Could Louis get anymore excited right now?! He's loving all the little Karl Lagerfelds apparently. So what did Gary make of it? He reckons his song was the best bit and says Rylan can't sing. The claws are out as Rylan says he's had Gary's cab on hold in case he had to storm off - and Gary hits backs that he's had Rylan's on hold for two weeks ... Ouch!

He needs no introduction ...
But of course he's getting one anyway - it's Rylan! He and Nicole are out to show Gary 'Bore-low' what fun looks like. And apparently that involves pretending to start with a Take That song! Okay, we kinda love Rylan right now! He's actually going for a mash-up of Groove Is In The Heart, Gangnam Style and Pump Up The Jam, complete with lots of crazy dancers ... Oh, come on, Gary - crack a smile! (Download the track here)

Look who's still watching!

Are you ready?
Rylan Clark's coming up! At least Gary can get home in time for a cup of cocoa before bed if he strops off again ...

Something missing ...
Ooh, could Kye be in trouble? His performance didn't grab Nicole and Louis says he got bored. A "non-comment" from Louis, according to Gary. Now now, boys - play nice!

Singing chimneysweep time!
Kye Sones isn't playing it safe this week, taking on an Eminem double-bill - Love The Way You Lie, which he did with Rihanna, and Thank You, which he did with Dido. He's got lots of burny flames for effect, but can he handle those high notes? (Download the track here)

Energy!
Tulisa and Gary warn MK1 not to let Louis have too much input. Surely they don't think he's not street enough? Didn't they see the VT? Nicole's not convinced the song choice was right for them. Louis wants them back next week - see what he did there?
