Viewers waited with baited breath to find out whether or not Dan would arrive at the church to marry Kerry, despite catching her locking lips with his brother the night before.
Hours before the wedding, Kerry made one last attempt to make Dan see that it was Daz who kissed her and not the other way around, leading to Dan eventually realising she is the love of his life.
Speaking to This Morning, actress Laura Norton said: "She is very insecure and flawed underneath that bravado and that was her with her heart on her sleeve, telling him how she really felt.
As was to be expected, Kerry's taste and style for the wedding left a few (or many) in disbelief, not least for her over the top wedding dress.
Laura, who was joined on the sofa by her on screen partner Liam Fox, told Eamonn and Ruth: "I had an idea for Kerry, sort of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding/Katie Price getting married to Peter Andre and luckily our costume designers had the exact same idea.
"It was bling with a lot of flesh on show - the complete opposite to what I would go for if I ever got married."
But despite the wedding going ahead as planned, Kerry and Dan soon got a huge surprise when a former flame showed up at the Woolpack declaring to be Kerry's husband as a result of a drunken night in Las Vegas.
Tempers soon flawed and punches were thrown as the police arrived to stop the brawl, which ended with Kerry and her old husband being carted off to jail.
"Kerry never thought that would ever happen for her, that big day, that big dream wedding," said Laura. "So I think she is absolutely devastated that it was ruined the way that it was.
"I think in her head she'll have to do it all over again."
But will the relationship survive this latest drama?
"It's going to be a rocky road, but that's why they work. It's not plain sailing, they don't get back together just like that.
"(Kerry loves Dan) because she has met somebody that completely loves her for who she is, without the make-up, without trying to be a big time party girl and she never had that before."
