Pop star Tulisa Contostavlos has denied rumours she has been axed from The X Factor, insisting she loves the talent show and is determined to return for a third series.

Tulisa denies rumours of X Factor axing

The Young hitmaker signed up as a judge for the UK version of the hit TV competition in 2011 and her profile has since rocketed, but after viewing figures fell sharply last year, it was reported the former N-Dubz star was let go by the show's creator Simon Cowell in an attempt to freshen up the panel.

Now Contostavlos has spoken out to clear up false rumours of a rift between her and Cowell, and maintains she is still in regular contact with the music mogul.

She tells The People: "I haven't been axed from the X Factor. I love the show, I'd always wanted to do it. Last year was much harder than my first series but I did enjoy it.

"I've contacted Simon and had dinner with show producer Richard Holloway and his wife a couple of weeks ago. We're all friends and I've not been told that I won't be going back."
