MCM Comic Con brought its celebration of all things to do with comics, sci-fi, anime, gaming and cosplay to the King's Hall on Saturday and Sunday.
Some of the special guests who attended included the cast of British series Red Dwarf.
Chris Barrie, who plays hologram Rimmer in the show, told UTV: "It's clear to me that Belfast has been starved of this kind of event for far too long and one of the great thrills of these conventions is going somewhere for the first time and on this scale it's absolutely thrilling to see the number of fans.
"I think a Red Dwarf fan, whether they're from Eastern Europe, America or Belfast, they are just totally focused on the love of the show.
"It's been a thrill to speak to them and get the feedback about what we're doing, particularly in the later shows, the new shows, fortunately most of it's been good."
He added that an eleventh series was in the pipeline, but the problem was trying to get everyone together for filming.
"I can't say when we're going to be able to do this, all I can say is it's going to hopefully be within the mid-teens of this decade, let's just say.
"It's just a logistical nightmare to get everyone and everything together, but the will is there."
Comic creators Glenn Fabry, Simon Bisley and John Mcrea as well as other stars from TV, film, and games were also guests.
One of the most popular attractions was the cosplay masquerade, which sees dedicated fans dress up as their favourite characters.
