Rod Stewart was caught on camera sobbing uncontrollably as he watched his beloved Scottish football team win an important game on Wednesday night.

The singer turned out to see his team Celtic take on Spanish side FC Barcelona at the Celtic Park stadium in Glasgow as part of the European Champions League tournament.

Underdogs Celtic scored a massive victory by beating the four-times Champions League winners 2-1, and Stewart was so overcome with emotion, he burst into tears.

Video footage shows the star wiping away tears before reaching for a tissue as he began to sob.

He was then given a big hug by a male friend sitting beside him.

Not a Celtic or Rod Stewart fan but i can understand the emotion of the occasion getting to him, i sat in Parkhead a few years back when Man Utd played them and the noise and atmosphere is something i,ll never forget, after nakumara scored for Celtic i honestly thought the roof was going to lift of.
