The Angels hitmaker battled with drink and drug issues throughout his years in the spotlight, but turned his life around and devoted himself to wife Ayda Field, who gave birth to his first child last month.
Williams became teetotal in 1999, and insists he would have probably cheated on his American partner, who he married in 2010, if he was still a heavy drinker.
He tells Shortlist magazine: "It's a hundred times easier when you don't drink, and I don't drink. If I drank, we'd literally be f*****. If I drank, I could not keep it in my trousers at all.
"I always have my wife with me. Always. I haven't missed playing around but I'm still a guy. This will be an ongoing project. Feels unnatural - but so far, so good."
