The pop star was famously asked to put her clothes back on as she frolicked with her co-star British boxer and model Dudley O'Shaughnessy in a field belonging to DUP Alderman Alan Graham.
He revealed he had a word with the singer about her lack of clothes.
"I've no ill against the people, but I feel there are boundaries as to what is acceptable to take place on my farm," he told UTV. But Mr Graham added that he shook hands with Rihanna and they parted on good terms.
Other scenes for the video were filmed in the New Lodge in north Belfast and Rihanna was also seen dancing on a table inside a chippy.
At the time, the singer said: "I want the video to give people hope for love. I want people to really believe in it and see how powerful it is and see how it is the sweetest drug.
"And how it can turn bad due to bad decisions," Rihanna explained about the song that topped the charts across the world.
At the Grammy Awards ceremony in LA on Sunday, We Found Love won in the Best Short Form Music Video category. It was up against videos from her mentor Jay-Z and Kanye West, as well as MIA, and Foster the People.
Rihanna caused further controversy as she appeared very close with her boyfriend Chris Brown, who served a community sentence after he attacked her in a car shortly before the 2009 Grammys.
Brown, a rapper, pleaded guilty to assault and making threats and was given a five-year restraining order, banning him from coming within 50m of Rihanna but which was later modified.
Last month Rihanna revealed the pair had rekindled their romance, and said: "When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world".
