The politically inspired act will take to the stage at The Limelight in the city on Tuesday 5 August.

Public Enemy first achieved mainstream success in 1987 with their critically acclaimed album It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back.

Best known for their hit singles Don't Believe The Hype and Bring The Noise, the group reformed in 2012 for a 25th anniversary tour.

Their 2012 single Harder Than You Think reached the Top 5 in the UK, their highest charting UK single to date.

The band were introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in December 2012, making them the fourth hip-hop act to be inducted after Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run D.M.C. and The Beastie Boys.

Tickets for Public Enemy live at The Limelight in Belfast go on sale from Monday 30 June at 9am.
