The former Liberty X singer took to her Twitter.com page to assure fans she is OK after the operation to remove her breasts.
She tweeted:"Thank u (you) for all your lovely tweets. It went well, but I'm obviously very sore & disorientated still. I have the best doctors & husband!"
The 33-year-old opted for the preventative surgery after learning she has the BRCA2 gene, and is therefore up to 80 per cent more likely to develop breast cancer.
Last month, she told British magazine OK!: "I really have no other option. I'm doing it to save my life. I don't want to live waiting for cancer to strike. I'm more scared than I (have) ever been in my life. I don't want to die young."
Sharon Osbourne had the same procedure earlier this year after discovering she was at risk of developing breast cancer.
