The talented students at St Patrick's College have created a hip-hop rendition of what's on offer at their school, with everyone from year one pupils to teachers taking part.

The rap has entered the top 10 in the Amazon children's chart and the video is a YouTube hit.

Principal Annie Scott said the founders of the school could never have envisaged seeing the anniversary marked in such a way.

She added: "I know that the previous principles and previous staff and pupils will be amazed, 50 years ago no, absolutely not, would not have considered this at all."

The rap will also raise money for the school with every digital download.

Choreographer Megan Hutchinson said: "It's unbelievable the amount of hard work that everybody has put in, we've worked well as a team altogether.

"Really we all just work well together doing the dances and we learnt it in no time.

"Everybody should just go home now and download it on iTunes and get good feedback and just wait for the video to come out!"
