The singer was due to embark on a 17-date UK and Ireland tour next year, stopping at the Odyssey Arena on 17 March.
On Friday she announced she was rescheduling the shows until October 2013 because she wanted "more time" to work on her new songs.
"I am honestly truly sorry but I hope you all can understand that it's just because I would like to take more time to finish my new album," she said.
"I promise to make this tour my biggest and best ever and cannot wait for you all to hear my new songs."
The rescheduled Belfast concert at the Odyssey Arena will take place on 15 October 2013. The new date in the city will mark the beginning of her postponed tour.
Tickets will be valid for the new shows.
